**Please note** Please arrive early to this event as spaces go quickly. This year's Grape Stomp was the largest ever and sadly, we had to turn people away due to Fire Regulations. Praying for a bountiful harvest for more than a decade, Irvin~House Vineyards invites the public to the 13th Annual Blessing of the Vines Festival on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m, located at 6775 Bears Bluff Road on Wadmalaw Island. Guests can witness the blessing of the muscadine grapevines by Father Greg Snyder, a centuries-old tradition used by vineyards from around the world to celebrate the new harvest, robust vines and savory grapes. The event is open to the public, admission is $10.00 per car and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Frierson Elementary After School Program.
Enjoy live music from Honey Smoke and Matt Mackelcan and food by Chucktown Mobile Seafood, Gidget Gourmet, and Linen's BBQ.Tasty food vendors such as Chucktown Mobile Seafood, Gidget Gourmet and Linen’s BBQ will be on-site selling their homemade eats. At next Saturday's Blessing of the Vines Festival, there will also be a Firefly Spirits Bake OFF! The Loophole, Sweeney's and Sunrise Bistro will create one dessert using a Firefly Spirit. Tickets will be sold to taste the desserts and the one with the most tickets wins the title of Best Firefly Spirit Dessert. All proceeds from the ticket sales will go to the Frierson Elementary After School Programs.
Guests can “Saddle Up for Students” by riding a mechanic bull that will also benefit Frierson Elementary. Families can enjoy sugarcane crushing, on-site craft vendors plus many kid friendly choices such as face painting and hula-hooping with Homespun Hoops. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to relax on the expansive lawn. Pets are allowed but must be leashed, and no coolers please. Guests are also encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot.
Along with local craft vendors on-site, this family-friendly event will also have pony rides, hula-hoops and face painting for the kids. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to relax on the expansive lawn. Pets are allowed but must be leashed, and no coolers please. The famous Irvin~House Vineyards Wine-a-Ritas will be served on the patio and Irvin~House Vineyards wine may be purchased by the glass or bottle and enjoyed outside. Tastings in the Firefly Vodka distillery and Irvin~House Vineyard winery are only $6.00 to taste 6 of 26 flavors of Firefly Spirits and $5.00 to taste 5 wines. Patrons will receive complimentary glasses during both tastings.
